We started
building Mission Surfboards shortly after opening the store
in 1993 and have been producing some of the highest
quality, most contemporary shapes ever since.
Bob Mitsven, Craig
Hollingsworth and Tim Snyder have all built boards for us under
the Mission Logo.
Today all
of our custom shapes are finely hand shaped by Bob Mitsven. Tim
has been making some of the more experimental designs for
us for the last few years.
Mission Surfboards offers every
design from little quad fish to high performance longboards
as well as big wave guns and
entry level eggs. When you want a custom
board, Mission Surfboards can make it for you.
THE NEW SHAPE
The NEW SHAPE is a racy mid-size template designed primarily for winter or bigger surf. We have pulled in the nose and tail for more speed. We lifted the nose rocker for more critical wave entry. And we thinned out the 60/40 rails for a more responsive feel. The bottom has a slight double barrel concave. It comes in any tail design. (Diamond Tail shown) The fin set-up is FCS TRI. Glassing is 6oz bottom and double 6oz deck.
Sizes from 8'0" to 9'0"
Priced from $735.00

The
Modern Longboard
We designed
this model to be one of our most versatile and adaptable boards
in the line. We start with a bit more rocker to offer more
performance on the wave. It has slightly down 60/40 rails that
sharpen up in the tail to make this board grab and slice going
into and out of your turns. The nose is slightly wider with
a light smooth concave to enhance your nose rides without bogging
down. And we split off a heartily double barrel concave to give
the tail enough lift to make your power turns come alive. We
can offer any tail design to your liking without any adverse
effect on the overall performance. The rocker can be adjusted
to fit your personal style or home break. The MLB is a great
all-around model for all skill levels and all surf conditions.
Priced
from around $650.00 and up.

The
Noserider
We have been
doing rider research on this clean little beauty for a number
of years now and we think this is the finest modern nose rider
yet. With a relaxed rocker for a more efficient and smooth
paddle we added a bit of extra kick in the tail to keep you
on the tip a little longer. The rails are a slightly pinched
60/40 with a sharp bite in the tail. The concave is a little
longer and deeper than the MLB for a more sustained nose
ride. We like this model as a rounded pin, but many like our
very square wider tail for more control. This board can be
designed as a single fin or as two plus one fin set up.
Another
variation is our SUMMER CLASSIC MODEL named for one of our
riders who helped with this design in a few years back, Summer
Romero. It is the same template with soft 50/50 rails and a
soft Vee bottom pin tail. |

The
Winged Swallow
One of our
newer models, the Winged Swallow Tail with its classic 70's
looks and modern design features, is the perfect choice for
small to medium surf conditions. The soft wing allows for quick
release in your turns so that the wider fish tail won't hang
on you. This is a good transition board for the bigger surfer
or the longboarder who desires more performance than a tanker
could offer. The fin set up would be a twin fin with a small
trailer center fin to give just enough tracking to keep you
from spinning out.

The
Speed Egg
More speed
than egg, this has been one of most popular models for about
the last ten years. Even though we tinker with its' design
features from time to time, it is still a board that will satisfy
not only the beginner surfer but the seasoned advance rider
also. We have taken out the big ol' round nose and pulled it
in so the rails won't hang up in a tight line. We have kicked
the nose up a little more so you can take a steeper drop .
There is a very slight entry concave to help the water flow
under the nose to reduce drag and split into another double
concave in the tail to give lift for effortless turning.

The
Double Winged Quad Fish
Much like
the Winged Swallow Tail, we added another wing to really loosen
this baby up and added the quad fin set up to give you much
more drive in your turns. The nose is a little narrower to
take out some of the swing weight and help maintain some extra
speed. The DWQ can be ridden shorter or if you need more float
we will make this up to 7'2".
